Surrendered to Christ; is He Lord?

Is Christ your Savior, yes he is. Is Christ your Lord? {Lord is an appellation for a person or deity who has authority, control, or power over others acting like a master, a chief, or a ruler.} The choice to place one’s faith in Christ as Savior, to accept him as payment for one’s transgressions (sins) against God, is an act of “free will”. When one receives Christ as their Savior “free will” is still intact, it’s a God given attribute of mankind. Therefore, as a saved person with a “free will”, is Jesus Lord of your life; have you surrendered your will to him?

What does it mean to “sanctify Christ as Lord” in our hearts? It means to turn everything over to Him, and to live only to please Him and glorify Him. It means to fear displeasing Him rather than fear what men might do to us or say about us. The simple choice to surrender our will to Him is the wonderful way to simplify and sanctify our lives; Christ set the example for us:

• And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. (Matthew 26:39)

• “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)

• I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)

These verses along with a daily attitude of faith that obeys God’s word in spite of consequences will be the sanctifying power of Christ as Lord of our lives. Evidence that Jesus Christ is Lord in our lives is the readiness with which we witness to others about Him and seek to win them to Christ. Christian, is Christ your Lord?
